Baby Contortionist

This morning Dad woke me up, and saw that I had the imprint from the grippers on the bottom of my footie pajamas on my cheek (it says "Place" for "Children's Place", where I got them). I woke up, sat up, then bent at the waist and fell asleep again with my face on my foot. Mom tried to write over it, so you can find it on the original picture, but it's kind of hard to see. If you click on the picture, it'll get bigger, and maybe make it easier to see. Mom and Dad both got a good laugh out of this. I'm a silly baby.

Extended Weekend

I had a very exciting weekend! I went to my friend Kara's baptism and watched her get water splashed on her head (she didn't even cry, what a big girl!)...

And today I got to have more fun hanging out by the ocean in Laguna Beach with my Auntie Kimmy! It's not a bad life, being a baby...

Lots of Learning

I have learned many new skills this week; I'm a quick study! I turned 8 months old yesterday, and here are my new accomplishments:

Playing the drum (following in Mom's footsteps):

Crawling forward (before I could only go in reverse):

And walking sideways while I hold onto the coffee table:

Baby Games

I invented a new game for Mom and I to play while I practice my standing skills at the coffee table. I wish I knew how to rotate these videos...

Miles and Me

My friend Miles and Auntie Kristine came up to visit today and went to the Little Gym with me. We had lots of fun, and were very proud of ourselves for learning to smile at the same time for pictures.

After they left, Chewy and I were both sad, and both hid under my crib and threatened not to come out until they came back. Mom coaxed us both out with food.

Lazy Sunday

I had a fun day goofing around with Mom and Dad today.

Daddy makes me laugh...

Here he is biting on my toy, which is usually my job...

So I decided to challenge him to a bite-off:

He's nice, so I think he may have let me win. Then I showed Mom and Dad my latest technique for drinking from my big-girl sippy cup:

It takes all 4 limbs, and sometimes I have to clap my feet at the same time just to really get things moving.

Almost 8 Months Old

Even though our official family moto is "Never trust a naked baby", Mom said I was so cute that she had to take a few pictures of me today.

Birthday Party

I went to my friend's 1st birthday party today. There were lots of other babies there for me to grab at, but I mostly had fun watching Dad blow on the noisemaker party favor.

Fun Friday

I had a fun day! It started with a little Sesame Street:

Mom's worried that I'm already a gaping-mouthed TV addict. I know I'm just good at paying attention. Then we met my friends at the park for a baby play date. Notice my "Angry Baby" face, but I'm actually having a good time:

Then I got to watch the geese and go on the swings, my favorite part!

Girl Time

Mom tried to make me look ladylike today by putting a bow in my hair. This is quite difficult because I'm so wiggly...

But I did enjoy it...

Chewy liked it too.

Babbling

Here is a small sample of my recent babbling. I actually have a more extended repertoire than this, but every time mom turns the camera on, I stop what I was doing. Watching her struggle is much more fun than performing for the camera.

I Can Do It Myself!

Even though I think they're kind of gross, I've learned to feed myself rice puffs. Yay, fine motor skills!

A Day at the Zoo

On Easter I went to the Santa Ana Zoo with Mom, Dad, Nana and Uncle Stuart. We had fun!

They kept telling me about the different animals I saw, like lemurs, tamarins, and monkeys, but I thought they all looked like different versions of Chewy. I was even reminded of Chewy when Uncle Stuart and Dad rode the elephant:

Happy Easter!

I woke up this morning and got to search for the family easter basket! I put on my easter bunny hat...

And was ready to hop to it (pun intended)!

With a little help from Dad and Chewy, I found it! Chewy got a rawhide, Mom got some chocolates, and I got a dolly, some socks, and some bubbles!

However, I was much more interested in Dad's gift:

I also got a carrot with fun little animal friends inside from Grandma and Grandpa.

I like the little bunny best...

Chewy didn't want to feel left out, so I let him/made him wear my hat. Good boy, Chewy! Happy Easter, everyone!

Visiting with Grandma and Grandpa

Mom and I went to Phoenix this week to visit Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Foster the Dog. This made me happy:


We had so much fun! Grandma fed me and laughed while I made the yummy sound (check out the video below):

We went on an adventure to the park. I rode in style in this retro stroller, lounging and wearing my shades...

Then I made Mom push me on the swing as I lurched forward trying to escape...


And, of course, got in lots of cuddling with Grandma. Yay!

Foster is Funny

Playdate with Auntie Kimmy

Auntie Kimmy came over to play with me yesterday, and we had so much fun! I showed her my belly...

...then encouraged her to tickle it while I squealed. I love her (and so does Mommy)!
