Memorial Day Weekend
Nana, Cousin Kyle, and Uncle Stuart came over for a BBQ this weekend. We had some good splash time in our water table. While Kyle and I continued to splash...
Tommy practiced floating in the tub. He now likes to lay down on his back with his ears submerged and talk. It cracks him up, he must like the way his voice sounds underwater.
After he was done floating serenely, Kyle and I decided to overtake the tub and continue the splashfest there.
After dinner I attempted to make Kyle play games by my rules...
But we just ended up running laps and giggling maniacally like we always do...
While Chewy and Nana got in some good snuggle time.

Let's Go Fly a Kite
We went kite flying yesterday, and I did such a good job running to get the kite in the air!
Tommy, not so much.
If you look closely in this picture, you can see the 3 of us doing what we do best: Chewy sprinting after his frisbee, me running around like crazy, and Tommy trying to take off his hat.

Yoyo's Birthday
Tommy and I went to my friend Yoyo's birthday party at the Little Gym.
You can't really tell from this picture, but that's Tommy LOVING running around with the big kids. Mom said that during group exercises in his Little Gym class with kids his age, he never runs with the group, he's always off climbing and exploring on his own. But he couldn't wait to hang out with us and do everything we were doing. Mom said he's trying to grow up too fast.We got construction worker hats, and ate a yummy chocolate cake that looked like dirt coming out of a dump truck.
Yoyo and I goofed around with our noisemakers and cracked each other up.

Happy Birthday, Chewy!
Today was Chewy's 7th birthday. I told Mom that Chewy (not me) needed to have a party and Chewy (not me) wanted to have a chocolate cake. I then helped Mom make, decorate, and sample the cake.
We invited Chewy's buddy, Chewbacca, over for the party.
He happens to be my friend, Isabella's, dog. What a happy coincidence!
Chewy wasn't all that fond of the birthday hats. Tommy's was the first casualty.
Here's the video for proof. At first I was convinced that he'd eaten the last birthday hat, but after I saw there were many left, I encouraged his puppy behavior:
We love our Chewy dog! Happy 7th birthday, good boy!

Look Out, Bobby Fischer
I raided the game cabinet last night, and Mom thought I was getting out the checkers set. Nope, it's the chess set, Mom. Checkmate!
I already know all the pieces' names, and am learning how they all move. And as you can see in the video, I'm not too bad at it, and am VERY excited about it. Chess camp, here I come!

Santa Ana Zoo
Mom told us we're going to the zoo today. Hooray!
We went with Isabella, and decided that one stroller was enough for 3 people.
This works, right? We cruised in style and saw lots of monkeys, a bald eagle, llamas, and giant anteaters.
After riding some big cats on the merry-go-round...
We pet some goats, and then washed our hands repeatedly in this fountain. Not because we cared that they were dirty, but because it was fun.
Then we had some fun hatching from the giant eggs before crashing out on the car ride home. Peep peep....Zzzzzzzz.....

Boeing Rocket Launch
On Saturday we went to a model rocket launch event at Boeing. Dad and I built our rocket out of a plastic 2 liter bottle, poster board, a cone wax cup, tape, string, and a paper parachute.
Tommy tried to help, but he was more destructive than helpful, so Mom distracted him with this banana.
Here's our rocket!
We filled it water, then went over to the launch site, where they pressurized the water in the bottle to launch our rocket. The rocket with the longest hang time would be the winner.
I even got to launch it myself!
3...2...1...Blast off!
Pretty good, eh? Maybe I'll add "rocket scientist" to my list of things to be when I grow up. After my successful launch, Tommy picked a flower for me...
And Mom gave us some freeze-dried astronaut ice cream. Yum?

Hide and Seek
Tommy and I have been taking hide-and-seek very seriously lately. How did he know I was in here?!?
We tried to fool Daddy too...
We've been found!
As long as we don't have to clean all the toys up, I'm sure you'll see us in here again.
