Uh Oh!

Uh Oh!  I have become so prolific that my postings have maxed out the space on this blog!  Please check out the following address for part 2 of our blog, that's where I'll be posting from now on.  Thanks!

Rainy Day

It was raining today, so we had to stay inside, and we couldn't go anywhere public, because Mom has hand, foot, and mouth disease.  Again.  Don't worry, we don't have it, just Mom.  Can't take her anywhere.  Anyway, we had to find some stuff to do around here, so Mom busted out the Play-Doh.

Here's Tommy the tinkerer in action...

And I was busy using the popsicle maker...

And making little dessert cookies.  Tommy didn't quite grasp the concept of "pretend" and actually put one in his mouth.  Apparently it didn't taste very good, because he didn't do it again.

After the rain cleared, we put on our rain boots and went out in search of puddles to jump in.

Tommy had to stop and say hi to this snail.

Then we finally found some good puddles for jumping and splashing. Splat!

More From Dance Class

Here are some more pictures of me at dance class.  Mom's always peeking through the window, so it's usually of my back and with a glare, but that's me in the light pink tutu and ponytail.

Here I am in fifth position.
And here's a little video compilation of my dancing and silliness.

Tinkering Tommy

Tommy is a lego building machine.  Here are a few of his newest creations, all done by him, no help from Mom. I think that's a car or train, and he's holding something that looks like a symmetrical animal with one eye in the middle.  Go, Tommy!

San Diego Sea Lions

We went to visit the seals at La Jolla Cove last weekend.  They were silly flopping there on the rocks...

And stinky.

Tommy liked being out on the long bridge, even though he and Mommy kept getting splashed.

I did NOT like being splashed.

Mommy and Tommy don't look too wet from the front (other than the water drops on Mom's arms and sunglasses), but you should have seen their backs.

I'll stick to the seals at Sea World, thanks.

Birch Aquarium

We met our friends at the Birch Aquarium at UCSD last weekend in San Diego, too.

Here's Tommy (in motion, as always), Miles, Robby, Lizzy, and me

We love fish!

And invertebrates!  Tommy squealed with glee every time he poked this rubber sea star in the middle on it's underside.

Then we got to feel the real sea stars.  Here's a bat star...

And me at the touch pool with Henry.

Tommy kept trying to fling himself into the touch pool, so Mom decided to enjoy the view instead with him for awhile.

We were all very giggly and silly at lunch...

And the same goes for when we were this shark's lunch.

Here's Auntie Kimmy trapped in the shark cage with the kiddos. Mom was wondering if she's worse off inside the cage with all of us, or out?

I tried to save Robby from certain death...

And Tommy laughed maniacally every time this black tip shark swam by.

All of us could have spent hours here at this inclined current pool...

And Miles and I had fun on the see saw.

A good time with good friends.

Good, silly friends.

I Love Hotels!

Daddy had a conference in San Diego last week, so we came up to crash in his hotel.  Not a bad view, eh?

We could even hear the sea lions barking from the patio.

I tried out a couple of places before deciding on the best place to sleep...

And Tommy just climbed everywhere...

Repeatedly.

The next day we got to play in the hotel's 3 cool pools.  They even had a water slide!  Tommy loved riding with Mommy...

But I was a daredevil (a new word I learned from Mom) and did it all by myself.

Turtle Time

Nana brought her turtle over to play with us!

Chewy wasn't so sure about it...

And neither was Tommy, at first.

But I was instantly in love...

And wanted to give it pats.

What a nice little turtle!

I Finished My Reading Lessons!

I'm officially a reader!  I finished all 100 of my reading lessons today.  Here I am putting my last sticker on my reading chart.

Mom and Dad are so proud of me, and asked me where I wanted to go to celebrate.  Chuck E Cheese, of course!

Tommy liked all the blinking lights on all the games, but his favorite was the model train.

I liked practicing my cowgirl skills...

Meeting Mr. Cheese himself...

And playing air hockey while making a new friend.

Tommy tested his firefighting skills...

And I did some cruising too.

A visit here isn't complete without playing a kid-friendly version of Whack-A-Mole!

I even rode the sky bicycle!

Tommy's next on the road to reading.  Buckle up!
