Angry Tommy

Tommy's a pretty happy little guy. However, lately, when he gets tired or frustrated (often while he's attempting to crawl), he starts biting his bottom lip and making a grunting noise. He looks sort of like this....

But you really need a video to capture the full effect.

Not Quite the Dog Whisperer...

Chewy and I are working on training and his tricks. We may still need a bit of work...

Tommy's Six Month Stats

Tommy keeps hearing about how I was an overachiever in the large baby department, and he is not to be outdone. We just got back from his 6 month check-up, and he currently weighs 22 lbs, 8 oz (>97%) and is 28 1/4 in long (95%). That's 3/4 inch taller than I was, and 2 1/2 lbs bigger! Nice work, big Mini-Man!

He also has a new trick where he can tuck his knees under him so he looks ready to crawl. He may be able to chase me soon, can't wait!

Sibling Play Time

I Can Do It Myself, Part 126

Add pushing myself on the swing the growing list of things I insist on doing myself!

Tommy is Six Months Old!

It's a bit hard to believe, but Tommy is 6 months old today. Here are a few of his latest accomplishments:
After much practice in my pink inner tube, he is now able to sit up alone (but topples easily).
He loves being on his tummy (he sleeps on it, too)...
And is mastering the plank position, with his belly and legs off the floor,
And his cobra yoga pose. Nice form, Tommy!
He's also learned to make "the noise", though he still spits up A LOT...

He's a great sleeper (6am - 6pm every night), a great eater...

And just a happy little guy. We love you, Tom Tom Frog!

Follow the Yellow Brick Road

Mom and I have been listening to the Wizard of Oz. I've been singing "Follow the Elephant Throw" as I skip. Those are the words, right?

Swimming with Miles

Miles and Auntie Kristine came up for a visit this week. We had a fantastic time playing together! First we warmed up with a little basketball... (check out my vertical, both feet off the ground!)
Then it was time for the pool. There was some hugging....
Inspection of the sprinkler system...
And much running, chasing, and silliness.
Here we are in action. Yes, I do appear to be biting/licking the tire swing chain in one video. Don't ask.

Tent Time With Chewy

Even though it appears here that I am trying to butt Chewy out of my tent with my head...
I really do love having him in there to play with me.
I think it's safe to say he loves it in there too, since this is where Daddy caught him napping while I had my bath.
Silly Pooper Dog!

Father's Day at the Park

We had a fun time at the park on Father's Day.
I love Daddy, he always goofs around with me on the playground equipment.

I think Tommy likes him too.

Play Time

Now that Tommy can sit up, he is a lot more fun to play with. I'm teaching him how to play with my doll house...

And how to play dress up. It begins.... mwah ha ha ha ha.

Aquarium Visit

Today Mom braved the aquarium with both Tommy and me. Since she was a little busy, these were the only 2 pictures she got:

This was Tommy's first trip, and he LOVED it! You can see him chatting with the fishes in this video below:
I obviously absorbed a lot of info at the aquarium, because at dinner tonight I told mom that the stems from my grapes looked like a leefy sea dragon. Don't you agree?

Fancy Dinner

We went out for our first nice dinner together as a family of four this weekend. Here is a posed picture, trying to look like we belong somewhere fancy. Try to look past the fact that I don't quite know how to cross my legs like a lady yet, and Tommy has drool all down the front of his shirt.
It's true, we're nothing but class...
But I had a great time at dinner, and ate up all my yummy pasta!
Mommy and Daddy only had an OK time since Tommy insisted on being held and squirming the whole time.
It's a good thing I enjoyed myself, because Mom says it'll be a long time before we do that again.

In the Backyard

We had some good family play time out in the yard this weekend.
Tommy mostly hung out in the shade....
Chewy sat by his side and protected him...
And I ran around crazy, like always.

Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

For Father's Day we made a treasure map to help Dad find the stuff we made for him.
I wrote a poem about him, and colored a picture for him.
And made him this little picture frame at preschool:
All Tommy did was pose for this picture:
I win! We all love you, Daddy!

They're 2, They're 4, They're 6, They're 8!

Here I am singing the Thomas the Train theme song. I love Thomas!
Here's the actual song; I think I have it down pretty well!

Photo Session

I tried to tell Mom it was no use trying to get us both to smile for a picture wearing our "Big Sister" and "Little Brother" shirts, but she just wouldn't listen.

So Quiet...

Mom jokes that it is never silent in this house, since I am constantly playing, squealing, or narrating my life. Lately I have taken to telling Chewy stories/listening to the sound of my own voice. I of course clammed up once I saw Mom was taping, but at least this gives you an idea.

Weekend BBQ

Since Dad had been gone all week, I stayed close to him. So close, that I insisted on sitting on his chair to eat breakfast with him.
After breakfast we went down to Robby and Lizzy's house for a BBQ. I had lots of fun grilling...
Digging in the sand with Kara...
And being silly while we drank our juice boxes together.
Then I got to ride home in style in my new booster seat, wearing Daddy's shades. Super cool!

Belly Laughs

Tommy has a new rash on his face (it's always something with that kid), but that doesn't stop him from silliness:
As always, nothing makes Tommy laugh more than watching ME!

Welcome, Fuzzy!

We found a woolly caterpillar outside, and decided to give it a nice home. At first, we just kept it in this little plastic bin...
I wasn't so sure about holding it myself, but I liked petting it on its back.
I decided to name it "Fuzzy". We wanted to give Fuzzy a big, comfortable new home so it could eventually turn into a butterfly. I collected lots of leaves, grass, and sticks for it to attach its cocoon to. Now I won't be able to pet it anymore, but I can always look in and see what it's doing.
Fuzzy looks happy in there, don't you think?
I can't wait to tell everyone at school about Fuzzy today!
