I Can Read!

Since I now refuse to perform on command unless bribed, Mom gave me some marshmallows for every word I read on the fridge. I can get almost any 3 letter word, and am getting pretty good with the following letter combinations: "oo", "sh", "th", "ch". Mom and Dad are pretty proud of me! Mom told me to ask for Ulysses for my 4th birthday.

Grow, Tommy, Grow!

Tommy went in for his 9 month appointment today. He is off the charts! He is now 31 inches tall (>97%) and 24 lbs, 8 oz (95%). If he were a 15 month old, he would be of average height. Wow! Go, Tommy, go!
Chewy was very proud and gave him a good lickin'.

Kowalewsky Play Date

The Kowalewskys came up to play with us yesterday.

Robby, Lizzy and I had some fun in the backyard...
And in the house...
Then we ate some dinner, where watermelon was the clear favorite...
Had a little cheers....
And then the true goofiness started. Before we all changed into our pajamas, we had to do the naked baby run.
Too much fun!

Tommy is 9 Months Old!

Tommy is 9 months old today. Here are some pictures of him in all his cuteness, climbing everywhere.

He also started saying "Mama" indiscriminately about a week ago, and Mom finally got it on tape. I told Mom it looks like he's calling Chewy "Mama" in this video, but she didn't care.

Singing the Stones

This is what I sing back to Mom now when she tells me "No".

Aquarium of the Pacific

We went to the aquarium this weekend and saw lots of cool sea creatures. Tommy liked the jellyfish...
And I was brave enough to touch them! Don't worry, the aquarium staff said it was ok.
We both liked the sea lions...

But Tommy may have had the most fun being silly at lunch.

Mom and Dad were happy that we are both at aquarium loving ages...

And that being there wore us both out.

New Songs

I am obsessed with the show "Dinosaur Train", and have been singing Buddy's T-Rex song lately. Here's how it goes, in case you don't know:

Here I am singing the T-Rex song, the Spiderman theme song, and my own little version of the Spiderman song for Tommy.

Tricycle! Tricycle!

I'm becoming a speedy tricycle rider!

But turning is not one of my strengths.

Backyard Breakdancing

Mom and Dad ordered something that came in a big cardboard box. They got a little nostalgic for their youth and decided to use the box to teach me how to breakdance in the backyard. Here are Mom's "moves"...

And Dad, kicking it old school...

Then I got my chance (with a little help from Mom)...
And did a little improvisation of my own:
Chewy even got in on the action. Go, Chewy!

Bubbly Birthday Fun!

I went to Isabella's birthday party yesterday. Cake is always my favorite part of the celebration...
But Isabella's party also had bubbles. I love bubbles! They let us play with all kinds of bubble making toys...
And then even put me inside of one. I loved being the girl in the bubble!

Making Slimy Friends

I made a new friend in the backyard today, a baby snail.

Family Photos

We had family photos taken a few weeks ago (before the outbreak, thankfully). In addition to our family one, Mom and Dad couldn't resist the one of Tommy and me because it perfectly exemplifies us both: Tommy so smiley, and me so silly. Enjoy!

J is for Jedi

Mom's been meaning to post this video for awhile. I got a new Star Wars ABCs book for my birthday, and instantly memorized what each letter stood for. Here I am showing off my skills until I get bored with Mom taping me.

Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease? Then why is it EVERYWHERE?!?!?

Once again, a plague has descended upon our household, this time in the form of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. I was the first to bring it home, and though pictures don't seem to do it justice, here are my feet. I won't show you the picture of what my poor butt looked like.
Next Tommy got it, and though I had the higher fever and more rashy bottom, I think he got it the worst. He's pretty much covered from head to foot, and even has some especially painful ones in the back of his throat and between his toes.
How do I know they're painful? Because Mom told me. Yup, she has it too. Adults rarely get it, but I guess she's one of the lucky few. She just wants to experience everything with us. So devoted. Here's a picture of one on her finger, but she keeps finding more by the minute on her hands, arms and toes.
The fun never stops (or is it starts?) around here. Here I am tonight in the backyard telling Chewy about what wussies Mom and Tommy are being. I've already got this disease beat, and am back to preschool tomorrow. Good luck, Mommy and Tommy!
