Pumpkin Carving

We carved our pumpkin for Halloween this morning. I'd never seen this done before, and wasn't so sure about all the gross-smelling "goo" (my description) inside the pumpkin. But I wanted to help, so I dug right in.

Dad got a sharp knife to carve with, and gave me this decorative butter knife with a seashell on the end to use. It wasn't quite as effective...

But I did think it made a nice nose for the pumpkin.

Mom helped carve out the mouth, but accidently knocked out one of its teeth. Glad Mom's not my dentist.

I may be overdoing this whole "say cheese" thing, but here I am with my carved pumpkin.
Happy Halloween, Everyone!

Halloween Party

Isabella had a Halloween party yesterday, and we all had so much fun! Here we are: Isabella as Jessie from Toy Story, me as the Kat in the Hat, Lizzy as Tinkerbell, and her sister Sofia as a kitty.
They tried to get us all to pose for a picture, unsuccessfully...
(Lizzy, Bella as Supergirl, Isabella, Ilana as an octopus, and Sofia)

But we did want to participate in decorating cupcakes. Here are Evan (a racecar driver) and I sampling our handiwork. Yummy!
Isabella and I did NOT want to participate in sharing, once again...

But we still love each other. What a fun way to start the Halloween weekend!

Birthday and Baby Fun

We went to Mom and Dad's friend Casey's birthday party on Saturday.

Here I am playing with her daughter, Mia, and with Danielle's kids, Lucas and Jacob. This fire truck was COOL!

Mom meant to take a picture of all the kids together, but then she got too busy gabbing with all her friends. Silly Mommy!

Dentist

I had my first visit to the dentist today, and I LOVED it! I was an especially great patient, since Mom and I had been practicing how to open my mouth really wide and say "ahhhh". The dentist let me make the chair go up and down, and let me play with some of his tools. In return, I let him polish my teeth. Mom couldn't believe it! Here I am showing off my pearly whites:

Paging Dr. Katherine

I got a new doctor's kit, and have been busy making sure everyone in the house is physically sound. Here I am listening to my own heart with my stethoscope...

Comforting a patient...

Checking Scout's temperature...
And Chewy's too. I may need a bit of an anatomy lesson, though.

Bathtime Silliness

Listen closely, and you'll hear that I discovered my rubber duckie makes a silly noise when I press it against my belly. Kara thought it was funny, too.

Oktoberfest with the Dombeks

My friend, Kara, and her family came up to go to Oktoberfest with us this weekend. I introduced her and her daddy to the giant chicken...

And then did some polka-ing with Mom.

Then it was time for Kara and me to do some serious dancing!

I even copied some of her moves...

Here I am showing off my dance moves with Daddy and then with Uncle Kevin:

After that, we were all spent, and took a little disco nap.

Prost!

Abstract Toddler Art

I decided I wanted to paint yesterday, and Mom decided she was brave enough to let me try.

I don't want to divulge too many of my secrets, but painting with 2 brushes seems to be one.

Ok, maybe I'm not ready for my first showing yet, but I have decided I'm more of an abstract artist. I keep telling mom that the one on the left is a chameleon.

Practicing for the Big Night

I have decided to practice wearing my Cat in the Hat costume so I'm sure to get it right on Halloween. Here I am having my snack and watching "The Cat in the Hat Knows Alot About That".

October Beach Day

It was a beautiful day yesterday, so we went to have some fun at the beach. Daddy and I made sand castles...

Then we decided it was time to hit the waves! At first I wasn't so sure what to do with myself...

Throwing shells and seaweed into the ocean helped a bit...

Then Mom picked me up and started dipping my feet in the waves, and I was loving it from then on!

Then it was time to splash around with Daddy. Here I am splashing my feet with him (sorry the video isn't right side up):

Then we went out a little deeper, and Daddy even pretended to dip me!

But I knew he'd keep me safe.

We love family beach days!

Pumpkin Patch

Mom, Dad and I went to the pumpkin patch to get ready for Halloween. I intended to help pick out pumpkins, but...

Got completely sidetracked by the petting zoo. Here I am feeding the goats, and expecting them to behave the Chewy does when I give him treats.

They did do "Up" kind of like Chewy does, but this one knocked me over in the process.

They then moved on to climbing all over Daddy.

And I moved on to feeding the sheep and llama...

and the ducks!

We even found a ladybug. You don't see that at every petting zoo!

Then it was time to get down to business and weigh our pumpkin-picking options.

After a quick surveillance of all the merchandise (with Dad's help)...
I found the perfect one for me (I insisted on the green and white one) and one for Chewy.
Now we're getting ready for Halloween!
