Box of Sticks

We received a package from Grandma and Grandpa today.  Actually, it was for Mommy.  When she was growing up at the lake, the chore she hated most was picking up sticks in the yard before she mowed the lawn.  Grandma hates doing it too, and always calls Mom and says she misses her most when she's doing it.  Today was the day Grandma and Grandpa closed on the sale of the lake house, so we got a nice box of sticks in the mail, with a note that read "Memories from the lake".  Nice.

Mom laughed a lot when she opened it, but we were excited to play with the sticks!  Chewy took the first one out and ran off with it.  Then Mom threw them all over the yard, so we could play "pick up sticks", just like she used to do (sort of).  As you can see, Chewy wouldn't quite cooperate with us to put the sticks back in the box.

Once we finally got the sticks back in the box, we pretended to light them on fire and have a campfire.  And no campfire is complete without (un)roasted marshmallows!

Yum!

Chewy!  Be careful of the fire!
